In summary:
- Anyone over the age of 18 is eligible for a 2023 booster including the latest xbb.1.5 vaccine if they have not had a vaccination this year.
- Patients aged over 65 without risk factors are eligible to receive a second additional vaccine this year but it cannot be the newest xbb.1.5 vaccine.
- Patients aged over 18 with risk factors are eligible to receive a second additional vaccine this year but it cannot be the newest xbb.1.5 vaccine.

The new xbb.1.5 vaccine will not be available until Friday 8 December for eligible patients.

Please note: if you have had COVID recently, you need to wait for six months after infection to receive the booster vaccine

Selected UFS pharmacies are offering Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations to all those eligible. The Moderna Bivalent COVID-19 vaccine is offered in line with the ATAGI guidelines as an alternative vaccine to any booster dose for patients over the age of 18. It is not recommended for the primary course of vaccination. If you have any concerns or you have a complex medical history, we encourage you to speak to your GP prior to making an appointment.
